George Varnavides

Ph.D. Candidate at MIT DMSE; Graduate Research at Harvard
Co-advised with Prof. Polina Anikeeva at MIT

After completing his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering at MIT in 2017, George started his graduate studies in DMSE at MIT, where he is co-advised by Professor Polina Anikeeva’s Bioelectronics group. His research focuses on heat transfer across (hard-soft) interfaces at the nanoscale, so as to better understand heat dissipation of the group’s polymer-coated magnetic nanoparticles. When he’s not drawing funny phonon interaction diagrams, George enjoys camping, making generative art, and singing along to Disney YouTube videos.
