Dr. Joachim Dahl Thomsen

Postdoctoral Scholar in Quantum Materials
Joachim

Joachim’s research focus is on transmission electron microscopy (TEM) of quantum materials with particular focus on in-situ heating and/or biasing studies of 2D magnets and van der Waals heterostructures. Previously, he worked in the Frances Ross group at MIT where he used TEM and other analytical techniques to study the interaction between metals and free-standing two-dimensional materials. He obtained his PhD in 2018 under the supervision of Peter Bøggild and Timothy Booth at the Technical University of Denmark.
